DRS Stacker Drive Wheel to Serbia

Recently, the DRS stacker drive wheels custom-developed by Philson were successfully shipped to Serbia, where they will be applied to the stacker equipment of a local core warehouse logistics project. Made of high-performance Vulkollan® elastomer, these drive wheels are expected to significantly improve warehouse operation efficiency and reduce equipment maintenance costs with their outstanding mechanical properties and weather resistance, injecting new momentum into the efficient operation of Serbia's logistics supply chain.

DRS Stacker Drive Wheel to Serbia

It is understood that the DRS stacker drive wheels delivered this time are tailor-made for the high-intensity operation needs of the warehouse project in Serbia. As a core handling equipment in the warehouse logistics system, stackers require their drive wheels to bear dynamic loads for a long time, facing multiple challenges such as heat accumulation and wear during acceleration, deceleration and continuous operation. Drive wheels made of traditional materials often struggle to balance wear resistance and heat resistance. Frequent replacements not only increase maintenance costs but also easily lead to operation interruptions.

To solve this industry pain point, the Philson team selected Vulkollan® elastomer as the core material of the drive wheels. This material is known as the ideal choice for stacker wheels. It is polymerized through chemical reactions of Vulkollan® polyols with a hardness range covering 65 Shore A to 60 Shore D, which can accurately match the load requirements of different operation scenarios. Compared with conventional materials, Vulkollan® drive wheels have three core advantages: first, excellent mechanical properties, with high tensile strength and low compression set, which can stably bear the dynamic load of the stacker; second, outstanding heat build-up resistance, which can effectively control heat generation during the high-frequency switching of equipment acceleration and deceleration, ensuring the stability of continuous peak operation; third, strong corrosion resistance, with good resistance to oils and greases commonly found in warehouse scenarios, greatly extending the service life.

"In response to the continuous high-intensity operation requirements put forward by WITRON, we have carried out multiple rounds of optimization on the structural design and material ratio of the drive wheels," said the technical director of Philson. "Tests show that this batch of DRS stacker drive wheels can still maintain extremely high wear resistance under harsh warehouse operating conditions. The maintenance interval is significantly longer than that of similar technical products, which fundamentally reduces equipment downtime and helps customers achieve continuous improvement in supply chain logistics efficiency."

The export of DRS stacker drive wheels to Serbia this time is not only another important breakthrough of Philson in the European market but also highlights the technical advantages of Vulkollan® elastomer in the field of high-end warehouse equipment. As a benchmark case for the application of high-performance elastomers, this project provides a reference technical idea for the customized R&D of global warehouse logistics equipment and accumulates valuable experience for the international layout of medium and high-end industrial parts.

At present, this batch of drive wheels has completed the shipping process. In the follow-up, Philson will simultaneously provide installation guidance and after-sales technical support to ensure the products are quickly adapted to local operation scenarios. In the future, the company will continue to deepen its focus on elastomer material R&D and industrial parts customization, providing efficient and reliable logistics equipment solutions for more global customers. For detailed technical specifications and application support, reach out to our engineering team.  Contact us!
